This Privacy Notice describes how sherzbigbox.com and its affiliates (collectively "Sherz") collect and process your personal information through Sherz Platform that reference this Privacy Notice. By using Sherz, you are consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any regulations issued under it.

1.What personal information about customers does Sherz collect?#

We collect your personal information in order to provide and continually improve our services.

Information You Give Us: We receive and store the information you provide in relation to Sherz Services such as:

  • Email
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Product preferences

You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our services.

2.Use of your personal information#

We use your personal information to operate, provide, develop, and improve the services that we offer our customers. These purposes include:

  • Purchase and delivery of products. We use your personal information to take and handle orders, deliver products and services, process payments, and communicate with you about orders, products and services, and promotional offers.
  • Provide, troubleshoot, and improve Sherz Services. We use your personal information to provide functionality, analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the usability and effectiveness of our services.
  • Recommendations and personalization. We use your personal information to recommend features, products, and services that might be of interest to you, identify your preferences, and personalize your experience.
  • Communicate with you. We use your personal information to communicate with you in relation to Sherz Services via different channels (e.g., by phone, email, chat).

3.Does Sherz share your personal information?#

No. Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling our customers' personal information to others.

We share personal data only with the parties who need it to deliver the service, and only as much as they need.

  • Paystack, to process your payments.
  • Delivery partners, who receive your name, phone number, and delivery address for your order.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers, who store data on our behalf under a written agreement.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to share it.

4.What information can you access?#

You can access information you have provided us with, such as your name, address, profile information, membership, list, and purchase history in the "Your Account" section of the website.

5.Cookies and sessions#

We use secure, HTTP-only cookies to keep you signed in, and local storage to remember preferences such as your light or dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6.How long we keep it#

We keep account data for as long as your account is open. After you close your account, we keep order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, then delete or anonymise them.

7.Keeping it secure#

Data is encrypted in transit. Access is limited to staff who need it, and sessions are managed on our servers rather than in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, so if we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

8.Your rights#

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal record-keeping duties.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
  • Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

9.Children#

Sherz is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10.Changes to this policy#

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you by email or in the app.
